About Mindful Self-Compassion
Self-compassion is the well from which compassion is drawn. The more we turn toward our own pain and suffering with kindness, the more we do so for others. If you are a caregiver of any sort - parent, teacher, healthcare provider, social worker, chaplain, veterinarian, community organizer - you know how important AND how difficult it is that your well always have water in it.
Mindful Self-Compassion is an empirically-supported, internationally recognized program that can help you meet the pressing, important demands of life with more ease, balance, and resilience. It was developed by Christopher K. Germer, PhD, a leader in the integration of mindfulness and psychotherapy, and Kristin Neff, PhD, a trailblazing researcher in the field of self-compassion. Mindfulness is being fully present in all the moments in our lives. Self-compassion giving ourselves the courage to explore the difficult moments with curiosity and kindness.
